IN MEMORIAM
Arlene Erskin Glotzer
December 24, 1959 – August 1, 2025
We are deeply saddened by the passing of our dear friend and colleague, Arlene Glotzer.
Arlene joined Eddy & Schein Group in April 2016, immediately making her mark with her insight, analytical rigor, and warmth. When Rebecca Eddy’s business partner, Gideon Schein, began to step back due to illness and later passed away in 2020, Arlene rose to the challenge—becoming, in many ways, a de facto partner. Through her leadership and dedication, she helped the firm continue to grow even amid the challenges of the pandemic, fostering new professional relationships and helping to identify and mentor new staff.
Her compassion for her clients matched Arlene’s sharp financial acumen. She worked with people of all ages but had a particular passion for supporting young adults and divorced individuals embarking on independent financial lives.
In the broader Daily Money Management community, Arlene served as Vice President of the Greater New York Chapter of the American Association of Daily Money Managers (AADMM) and, in 2023, earned her designation as a Certified Daily Money Manager (CDMM).
Before joining Eddy & Schein Group, Arlene built an impressive career in foreign currency risk management at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, Ford Motor Company, and several New York-based banks. Her work spanned interpreting financial market trends and foreign exchange exposures for government and corporate leaders to designing and executing strategies that mitigated currency risk.
Arlene brought that same analytical depth to Eddy & Schein Group, guiding clients through issues related to liquidity management, tax planning, and investments. Her expertise extended to assisted and independent living planning, offering clients and their families both financial clarity and genuine care.
Arlene earned her bachelor’s degree from Binghamton University and her master’s degree in international relations from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).
